Wheel parallelism

Incorrect parallelism (alignment) of the wheels is not always noticeable, but it can cause damage to your tires and seriously impair driving. This can result in faster tread wear as well as a decrease in your vehicle’s grip on the road. It is therefore recommended that you have your vehicle’s toe adjustment checked every 12 months or 20,000 km or if you have reason to believe that it has been disturbed.

Why is wheel alignment important?

We recommend our service, because the correct alignment of the wheels ensures :

  • Better safety: the vehicle has better handling and does not drift to the sides.
  • Optimized fuel consumption: you will save money on the vehicle’s fuel.
  • Improved tire life: Your tires will no longer wear unevenly.
  • Protection of other components: your suspension and steering will wear less and be less prone to serious damage.

When should I have my wheels aligned?

Wheel alignment failure can be caused by seemingly innocuous situations, such as a minor collision or curb impact. Does your vehicle roll to the side when you drive? Does your car’s steering wheel not return to its original position after turns?

We recommend that you have your wheels aligned in these situations:

  • after a collision ;
  • After a curb, pole or pothole impact;
  • After replacing or repairing your bearings;
  • After replacing your suspension or steering;
  • After installing new season tires;
  • After installing new tires (to extend their life);
  • If the steering wheel is not positioned correctly even though you are driving in a straight line;
  • If the tread wear is irregular.
